About Parklands
Parklands aims to be a relaxing destination for a holiday, short break or just a weekend away. Families, Couples, Old or Young, all are equally welcome.
We do not have pages of do's and don'ts, all we ask is that you treat the facilities and other visitors with respect and leave the site as you found it.
The site consists of two level landscaped caravan and camping fields and gardens, at just over five acres, with only 58 pitches, there is room to relax and play.
We plan to upgrade some of the sites to “Fully Serviced Pitches”, this will include mains electricity and television hook up, fresh water and a waste water disposal point, along with a gravel hard standing, ideal for those of you in motor homes, or just wanting to have an easier stay. We hope to have the first of these available for 2010.
Also planned are installations of additional waste water disposal points, so in the future it won’t mean a haul of your waste water to the current single disposal point.
Facilities already available are :
-
heated swimming pool
- bar
- a modern heated shower block, with plenty of hot water,
- toilet and washing cubicles,
- automatic washing machine and iron,
- Washing up facilities for camping.
These facilities are designed for disabled use.
If camping or caravanning does not appeal to you, or if you have friends who don’t, we have a static holiday home which sleeps up to six people available to hire.
Just outside the shower and toilet facilities is the heated swimming pool with a recent addition of a fresh water shower (solar heated) also sun loungers are provided for all visitors to use.
The heated pool is maintained every day before it is opened. We do not have a lifeguard so children or weak swimmers must be supervised.
There is a small shop area, which stocks a good range of food, from breakfast cereals to frozen foods, fresh milk and bread available daily, as well as ice creams for those warmer days, plus chilled wine and various soft and alcoholic drinks, also camping essentials and Calor gas, you can even order your daily paper.
Our take away sells a range hot food and snacks including freshly prepared pizza. Pre ordered food can be delivered to your pitch at no additional cost.
Parklands has its own licensed bar, this is open weekend lunch times during the peak holiday periods as well as Friday and Saturday evenings, also Sunday evenings on Bank holidays, it is open depending on demand, so if you feel thirsty for a fresh pint then ask, they might not open for one person, so get a small group together.
If you wish a little gentle sport there is a putting green, clubs and balls provided, also several Petanque courts, a Volleyball court and adjacent to the shop area a Pool Table, Table Tennis and Darts Board, locally there is river and lake fishing and Golf.
Those of you with dogs, bring them along, there is a wooded dog walk the only limit is that no more than two dogs per unit and they must be kept on a lead at all times.
If you enjoy cycling bring your bike as Parklands is close to one of the national cycle routes, plus its all hill free cycling
New for 2009 is a childrens play area with play equipment for under 12s. The play area is located just away from the pitches and so children using the play area must be supervised.
We aim to recycle 30% of our waste and have facilities on site to recycle Glass, Aluminum Cans, Plastic Bottles, Cardboard and Paper. Please help us to minimise our environmental impact by separating these from you waste and placing them in the correct bins.
